Last night I went over to Blue Lotus Recording Studio in St.Louis, MO to hang out with friend of the show Paul Niehaus & Gene Jackson. This week I caught up with 2 producer/engineers that are on top of their game, none other than Jason McEntire & Preston Jones of Sawhorse Studios. Sawhorse has been a staple of St.Louis music for the last 10 years. They've recorded with some of my favorites like Funky Butt Brass Band, The Sleepy Rubies, The Provels, Fivefold, The Goodtime Engineers, The Feed, Midnight Reveille, Kevin Bowers and the list goes on. We recorded this one in Jason's studio after hours and had a lot of laughs. We talk about their start into music and becoming audio engineers, some good advice for bands looking to record and everything else! Last Saturday night I stopped by Dead Wax Records in St.Louis, MO to see my friends Beth Bombara & John Calvin Abney perform a quiet intimate acoustic show there. They brought along friend M.Lockwood Porter who was wonderful! Last weekend I took a trip out to Washington, MO to the Sand Bar to record with St.Louis rockers Conquer As They Come. These guys have quickly been making a name for themselves in the local scene. The hard work is paying off as they earned the opportunity to share the stage with Sevendust!! In this episode we get into talking about their new single & the video for "Make Believe", we also talk about the origin of the group and how they band has evolved, and answer some questions from the fans. The other night I had the opportunity to sit and talk with one of my favorite concert photographers Kenny Williamson of RKNPHOTO. If you don't know the name, I guarantee you've see some of his work. He's been working the last 10 years as a photographer for LiveNation at the now Hollywood Casino Amphitheater. The other day I caught up with Joel Crespo & Brian Hardesty of Guerrilla Street Food.
