Last week I took a drive to Granite City, IL to meet up with Cuvi in his studio with his producer Evan Murray. We had a great time talking about some of Cuvi's songs, some past bands he was involved in, his blindness, doing comedy, Tenacious D & more. A bit ago I caught up with Ryan Torpea, Zac Minor & Derick Tramel of Al Holliday and The East Side Rhythm Band. We hung out at the Gaslight in St.Louis to record to this episode. Last Saturday night I stopped by Dead Wax Records in St.Louis, MO to see my friends Beth Bombara & John Calvin Abney perform a quiet intimate acoustic show there. They brought along friend M.Lockwood Porter who was wonderful! Just before the show I was able to catch up with John for about 30 mins to talk about his new record FAR CRIES AND CLOSE CALLS, songwriting, writing his first song, our friend John Moreland and he plays "Way Out" live acoustic! John also mentions his music video for "Way Out" which is now available! I had a very small part in the making of this, so I was excited to see it. John had asked me to us some video I shot of him and Chris Porter on stage together at Off Broadway a year ago that he used in the video. It turned out beautifully! Love this song! The other night I caught up with Oh Caledonia at their band practice. This was my first time meeting anyone in the group, but by the end of this it felt like we were old friends already.
